Messi in talks over new contract

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the club have opened talks with Argentina forward Lionel Messi over a new deal.
The 22-year-old's current contract expires in 2010 and reports suggest the Catalan giants will increase his salary to 9.5m euros per year (£8.08m).
"Everything's going along well," said Laporta, after club representatives had met the player's father.
"Barca will always do whatever is necessary to keep Messi happy."
The Barcelona chief added: "He's a great player, a homegrown lad.
